Vacation Brain

Did you think i was not going to write tonight?!?! Well thanks a lot! LOL! Thank you for believing in me! HAH!

I want to say that if you are actively in my life, you most likely will be in my blog....so sorry about yer luck!

Why is it that toddlers need to have tantrums? Does anyone really benefit from it? I am pretty sure I do not!!!! I though it was terrible twos...but have been informed that twos are cake compared to the threes.....

I have not done anything on my list of things to to before i go on Vacation. I have been working late and my brain is mush! LOL! I think i am already on vacation!

I am really doing good with eating and making sure I exercise everyday. With that going for me I am really excited to weigh in on Friday! KEEPing it DAY by DAY!!!

I got my blog in for the day!
Have a good night!!

Flattered!

There is nothing like someone showing some sort of interest in you! It is one of the best feelings in the world! Well for me it is!! That gave me a boost in my confidence and some pep in my step today! I just wish I didn't have any insecurities lol!

Any hoot! Did not get much done last night, ended up laying in bed with DB at 8:30 watching "Cowboy" (Toy Story) again, trying to fall asleep but she was to wound up and did not want to sleep. That happens when she naps to late. That is the hard part about sharing a room/co-sleeping, she is up in my face wanting to play when I just want to sleep! LOL! Parenting is defiantly trial by error, until you have #2, then you know what you're doing!   Oh well it comes with the territory of being a parent. I would not change it for the world.

Tonight is going to be a night filled with tutus...I have to make about 10 eek! LOL! Girls and their tutus! What are you going to do?!

So since yesterday was a not so sunny day, I DID get my lunch walk in, about an hour after we were back from our walk it started pouring. It was raining this morning also so hopefully it will clear up so I can get a walk in today!

I am going to make this short today :)
Have a great day!!!

Zucchini Noodles!!!

So here is the recipe for Zucchini Noodles!

What you will need:

2 - medium zucchini
2 tblsp olive oil
Black pepper (Optional, to taste)
Salt (optional, to taste)
Pasta Sauce (Optional)
Meatballs (Optional)

Directions:

1. With a good potato peeler create long "noodles" by starting at the top of the zucchini and peeling wide ribbons down the length of the zucchini.

2. Continue making ribbons as you turn the zucchini as you get all the green part off first (I included the green part), you may consider getting organic zucchini for this.

3. When the center portion becomes too thin, set it aside to use in a salad and start a new zucchini.

4. Heat a large skillet on medium high.

5. Add the olive oil and zucchini "noodles".

6. Saute the "noodles" for 2-3 minutes.

7. Season with freshly grated black pepper and salt if desired, to taste.

8. Serve with your favorite pasta sauce and meatballs (optional)

This recipe states that it makes about 4 servings, each serving is 80 calories, NOT including the pasta sauce or meatballs. Pasta sauce is not high in calories, so you are looking at about 150 calories for a serving. YUM!

I was pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture. The texture is actually like a "noodle". I am going to make it again and serve it to DB and then update you. She is starting to get picky with what she eats in her toddler years...so if this does pass her test it is a way to get kids to eat more green veggies!!!

Thanks for reading!!

3:33 in the am rant

You know it is bad enough that we have cancer in this world....can't they give us a break and not let kids under
5 get sick!?!? It is 3:36 in the am on Monday February 6th and I am sitting in my bed with my almost 3 year old trying to get her to suck on a vitamin c lolli pop to help her cough. We both have probably only slept a total of 1 hour....how is this fair?!

I have a humidifier going, it doesn't seem to be helping. I have been giving her hylands nighttime cold 'n cough and elderberry and these seem to not be helping....oh and I have been putting baby vicks on her chest and back.....do you have any suggestions!?!!

I'm done with my rant :(

December 27 20111

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, which ever holiday you celebrate!

So in our house we do celebrate Christmas, we are a pretty mixed bunch, we celebrate many holidays. Which i think is awesome! We had a great Christmas, we go to my aunts house Christmas Eve and scrapbook all night...lol...then sleep...wake up....stockings....breakfast.....and then presents....

DB was so excited when she woke up, she thought Santa was a girl, and asked why her (Santa) mommy wasn't here....LOL..and if her (Santa) mommy helped her with the presents. Man oh man do i love that kid!

She got an awesome bike from our Aunt Jodi:

Once she opened it and saw that it was a bike she said "OH a bike ride" lol!!

Aunt Jodi woke up Christmas morning with the Flu, we felt bad for her. She is doing better now, so NYE we will be back to scrap-booking maniacs lol.

I have decided to make tons of changes in 2012, besides the 100 days of real food, i will also be remodeling my living space, Here is what i have so far:

The inspiration for DB's room - this will not come until mid to late 2012, DS (Darling Sister) lol, is planning to move in with her DBF (darling boyfriend) lol! Once she moves out then her room will turn into DB room, i'm not going to lie, it is really exciting for me! LOL DB and i are in a room together and have been since i moved back in with my parents...It will be nice to have my own space again, i think DB will like it as well...

So i had to buy this rug because DB said she wanted a purple room. I saw this at Big Lots and it was the only one left, i was afraid that it would be gone by the time we get to her room, so i bought it anyway lol!

This is the paint that i will be using to paint the hallway and the stairway. I am not sure if i should paint the doors blue also, and just leave the trim white or just paint it all the light blue....this i will need to think about.

This is the bathroom color, it is like a blue/green ish color, i like it a lot.

To the Left is the hallway/stairs color, and to the right is the bathroom color, and everywhere else is the current bathroom color which is an ugly yellow ish caca color that my mom painted. Sorry mom....it just doesn't work.

This remodel will be a project that i will be working on in all of 2012, i really only have nights and weekends until march and then i only have weekends to work on it. I will post pictures randomly as i go :)

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

December 18th 2011

There is only one week until christmas, this will be DB's 3rd Christmas. It is so crazy to see the change in children as they grow up. I am so excited for next weekend <3

Today is my 5 year anniversary with the company I work for. This is the longest job I have had to date. I was just thinking that jobs are like relationships...my job and I have had our up and most defiantly our downs, I have grown with my job and I have watched my company grow. I am thankful for my job. I am going to keep positive in 2012 and hope my company sales increase :)

I found a blog www.daddyslittlegrill.blogspot.com it is about a woman who lost her father in January 2011 due to suicide. It is her daily struggles. I read every one of her blog entry's and you can just see the strength grow in her over this past year. January 19th will be the 1st anniversary of her daddy passing maybe if you guys could keep her in your thoughts or go leave her a comment may help her ease through this time. Also if you have lost someone due to suicide or know someone who may be thinking of taking their life, I truly feel that this may help you or them. To know you are not alone.

Since today is Sunday DB and I don't have much planned. Just have to get up and get the laundry started and then we have to go to bed bath and beyond which will be interesting. Hopefully we wont have to fight the crowds too much lol.

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend so far!!!

Episode TwentyTWO

I am not sure what is going on with my comments on here, it is starting to bother me....

This past weekend I took the weekend off of Weight Watchers (DON'T WORRY i was back on track on monday) due to having so many thing going on.....

Last Friday night came home and made dinner (weird), i made a weight watchers dinner: Chicken Teriyaki with Broccoli. It was really good! The best part about it was I didn't eff it up. I am seriously not a cook! i think it will take me a while to get the hang of this but i'll take it slow. I so far have not made a meal every night. Obviously you can see from how often i post, i suck at committing to things, and i REALLY need to change that. I dont think i will be able to advance in ANYthing if i cant grasp that.

Potty Training

Yesterday (10/13/11) we started potty training DB, by we i mean gamma moogs and I. My idea was to take her to the bathroom every 15-30 minutes and sit her on the potty. During my shift, the evening, i think i am letting her sit there to long. What is the right length of time to let your kid sit on the pot...? So we'd take her potty and then once 30 minutes or so elapsed we got up....AN THEN...5 minutes into the waiting period she would pee in her diaper.....this basically happened all day. I though she pee'd once on my shift....i'm pretty sure she did. Then right before bed i took her to the potty and we waited it out....then i put an overnight diaper on her....and 5 minutes later she comes to me and this was our Conversation:

DB: "I pooped."
CS: "Excuse me?"
DB: "Yook" (turns around, points to and shows me her diaper bum)
**There was poop in there**
CS: "You pooped, why didnt you tell mommy, we just used the potty"
DB: "Poop"

I am not going to lie, i was upset, frustrated, irritated, etc. "Maybe she ISN'T ready for this" i thought. I am not so sure what to do now, i am going to keep the potty training in effect through the weekend. Yesterday was day one and kids NEED structure.....so my night and weekend are going to be spent in the bathroom....lol. We have a play date with EM tomorrow, we will keep the bathroom limited, but i really believe in here. I am the one who needs to be patient. i am going to take it day by day.

The Jill Foundation

This weekend SUNDAY to be exact there is a benefit, in honer of my Aunt Jill! She was such an amazing woman! Before i get to the benefit i want to tell you a little about her. She was an amazing lady, a hair stylist, when she smiled there was this glisten, like a sparkle in her eye, she lit up a room. She was such a great mom. So kind and generous. She took me in when i was down, I was 18 just got out of a drug induced, abusive relationship. I decided to clean my life up, and to get literally clean i needed to get away...and she took me in.  My aunt passed away from breast cancer in 2004. I think about her every single day! Every single day since 2004....i really hope she knows how much of an impact she has had on my life. She is in heaven with my Gran (her mom) now, and both are not in pain anymore! I love and miss you both so much!!!!

The dual purpose of The Jill Foundation is to honor the memory of Jill Etzold Kester, a true friend and a talented and respected hairstylist, who was taken from us by breast cancer, and to help hairstylists whose lives have been affected by this devastating disease.

Ok so this sunday is The Jill Foundation's 2nd Annual - Cut-A-Thon in Orange, CA

For $15.00 (Donation) you get a shampoo and a cut, also there is always a raffle, that is always a good time!
